Girl Scouts

We are Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world.

St. Philip’s has a proud legacy in Girl Scouts. In 1939, the second Negro Brownie troop in the South was established at St. Philip’s. We have had an active troop for 82 years! We have produced women of Courage, Confidence, and Character all over Richmond and beyond!

Girl Scouts can unleash the G.I.R.L (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ in every girl, ensuring she has every opportunity she deserves to build a lifetime of leadership, success, and adventure.  Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges – whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice, or make their first best friends.

Girl Scouts are backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums. If you are or an adult — female or male — looking to make a difference in a girl’s life there’s something for you in Girl Scouts. Volunteers are always welcome

St. Philip’s Girl Scout Troops meet every other Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm at the church.
